Temitope Ogunsemo is an outstanding young entrepreneur who built a 3 million dollar Edtech Company organically from zero into one of the most profitable IT education solutions in Nigeria.
He is an "old boy" of the Great Kings College in Lagos. He also attended University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he studied Chemistry (Bsc). He went ahead to further his education at the University of Salford, United Kingdom where he graduated with a Masters in Information Management System.
Temitope has been recognised with several awards such as the young CEO of the year 2018 Award, the Nigerian Technology Personality Award and the Distinguished West African Personality of year 2017, ECOWAS Youth Council Award, the Young Entrepreneur Award, and most recently a recipient of the Africa Icon awards 2018. He was also listed by Forbes in 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa. The Confederation of West African youth also listed him as one of the 100 Most Influential young persons in West Africa, and most recently he was listed as one of the 100 most Influential youths in West Africa in the Personal Development & Academia category.
Just like every graduate out there seeking to further his or her education or other academic pursuit with requirement of providing academic transcript, Temitope needed his but he had a difficult and frustrating experience when he attempted to secure his academic transcript from university of Ibadan, Nigeria. It was then he got the idea to develop a School Information Management System that would not only improve the storage/preservation and retrieval of academic records but would also position these schools to harness the benefits of digitization.
In 2010, Temitope and a group of consultants came together to build one of the leading IT Companies in Nigeria known as Krystal Digital.
Krystal Digital is a fast growing ICT company which specializes in the development and deployment of customized and service oriented software applications as well as IT training. The Company is focused on strengthening the application of ICT in the Education sector, especially the Basic and Secondary Education Sub-sector. Their products and services currently span across 50% of the Federal Government Colleges in Nigeria with MySkool Portal being their biggest development at the moment.
MySkool Portal is a web-based application for School Information Management System designed for proper storage and documentation of school data. This has been adopted by more than 50 Government-owned High schools in Nigeria and has more than 65,000 active student users with annual revenues of more than $3 million.
The need to continue to strive in a complex business environment made Krystal Digital to explore other sources of revenue generation. They have successfully championed the Krystal/Microsoft Imagine Academy where they invested up to $1 million building digital IT academies across various secondary schools across Nigeria and working in partnership with Microsoft to teach Nigerian students Microsoft Professional Program courses.
Temitope believes in leadership by example, by positive reinforcement and by action. He continously encourages freedom of action, innovation and creativity as long as they are beneficial to the growth and development of the organization.
