Meet "Anthony Chukwuebuka Victor" popularly known as Victony.

Anthony Chukwuebuka Victor known professionally as Victony is a Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter. He was born on the 5th of January, 2002, and hails from Orsu Local Government Area, Imo State, Nigeria. He is currently a student of the Federal university of Technology Owerri (F.U.T.O).

Victony’s musical career kicked off professionally in 2017 and at the time he was a rapper. He was influenced while growing up by artist like Davido, Wizkid, MI, Falz and so on. He made his debut with a mixtape on SoundCloud titled “The Outlaw King” which is why till this day, his fans call him the ‘The Outlaw King’.

He is signed to a Nigerian record label called Mainland BlockParty and Jungle Records. He released a debut studio album Saturn, in August 2020. He released his first single titled Ina Benz, which was his first appearance in the music industry. 

Victony

Victony first came into the scene when he traded rap verses with Ladipoe on his revival Sunday series. The mixtape was followed by covers of international hit records like "Bodak Yellow" by Cardi B, "On the Low" by Burna Boy. He started off as a rapper but later switched and started releasing R&B, trap music, and Afropop records.

2021 started with his record "Pray" gaining traction, a song that was released after he was in a car crash. He got his biggest break in October 2021 when he teamed up with Mayorkun on the song "Holy Father". The song was number one on Apple Music Nigeria and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Top Triller Global charts in December 2021. He later collaborated with Grammy Award-winning producer Rexxie on an EP called Nataraja.

Victony

On the 26th of April, on his way back from a birthday party, Victony and his friends were involved in a fatal car accident that claimed the life of one of his friends, Doyin. The singer was left badly injured and had to undergo surgery. The news was shared online by talent manager, Dafe who called for prayers from well-meaning Nigerians with the hashtag #prayforvictony. Celebrities like Davido, Laycon, Ric Hassani, Soundz, and many other top celebrities in Nigeria tweeted a prayer for him and a GoFundMe account was set up for his surgery. The surgery went successful and the singer has been using a wheelchair since after then.
