4, 2024, the global music community is gearing up to celebrate outstanding
achievements from October 1, 2022, to September 15, 2023. The Grammy Awards,
hosted by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, honor the best
recordings, compositions, and artists in the industry.
Nigeria's international music scene is experiencing
unprecedented growth, with notable superstars Davido, Burna Boy, Asake,
Olamide, and Ayra Starr all securing nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Impressively, a total of Nine Nigerian artists, including CKay, Fireboy DML, Tems, and Seun Kuti have earned nominations/recognitions in various categories.

Leading the pack is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu MFR, known professionally as Burna Boy, the Nigerian Afrobeats
sensation, who has clinched an impressive four nominations. His outstanding works,
such as "Sittin’ On Top Of The World," "I Told Them…,"
"Alone," and "City Boys," have earned him the title of the
most nominated Nigerian artist in the 66th Grammy Awards. Notably, Burna Boy
had previously claimed a Grammy for "Best Global Music Album" with
his 2021 release, "Twice as Tall."

David Adedeji Adeleke professionally known as Davido, another heavyweight in Afrobeats, marked a
significant milestone with three Grammy nominations for the 2024 Awards. His
latest album, "Timeless," was nominated for Best Global Album, while
his tracks "Unavailable" and "Feel" earned nods for Best
African Performance and Best Global Music Performance, respectively. Davido
shared his excitement on Twitter, emphasizing that "Delay is not

Adding to the list of accomplishments is Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe professionally known as Ayra Starr, the
young and talented Afrobeats and R&B singer, who secured her first Grammy

is the first and youngest Nigerian female artist to receive a Grammy nod in
this category.
